Aromatherapy
Last week, we learned how to breathe correctly. (Click here, if you missed it.) But did you know you can enhance your breathing with aromatherapy? Aromatherapy uses essential oils to help you shift your mood.
Smells are a very powerful way to shift instantly. How many times have you smelled something and it instantly transported you to a memory of something? For example, smelling fresh baked cookies or pies may instantly shift you into good holiday baking memories. Or a perfume or cologne instantly reminds you of someone. Essential oils can also help with improving ailments or conditions.
A fun way to explore aromatherapy is by going to a store and sniff around the different essential oils. See which ones you like and which ones you don’t. See how those smells make you feel. You can then add the oils that you like to your collection. You can diffuse the oils in a diffuser or use them in an inhaler or aromatherapy jewelry. The inhalers have a cotton wick that you saturate with essential oils. The jewelry is usually a piece of felt that you can add oils to in a locket or bracelet form.
Here’s a recipe I like to keep in an inhaler for when I need a pick me up to either wake me up, keep me alert, or help clear sinuses. You can find aromatherapy inhalers on Amazon.
Just Breathe Inhaler
5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
3 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
3 drops Camphor Essential Oil
Add drops directly to the cotton wick of the inhaler. Take a deep breath in (through your diaphragm!!) 😉 If you want an even simpler recipe, just use Peppermint essential oil. It’s your inhaler, so choose what you wish!
Thanks for the terrific information for us.
